A Word About Cooperation

Successful orthodontic treatment requires team work. Achieving a beautiful healthy smile requires a partnership that involves the orthodontist, the family dentist, the orthodontic staff, the patient and their parents.

To achieve the best results, there must be a consistent, cooperative effort by both the orthodontist and the patient. To successfully complete treatment, patients must keep his or her teeth clean, wear rubber bands, headgear, or other appliances as instructed by the orthodontist, and keep regular appointments as scheduled. Broken or damaged appliances can lengthen the treatment time and affect the quality of the final result. Patients who do their part consistently not only make themselves look good and their orthodontist look smart, but they also get their braces off faster.
